Effect of Xylo-oligosaccharides Supplementation on Egg Production Performance of Laying Hens

Abstract: 1080 newly-born Roman hens were randomly allocated to 6 groups,0.01%,0.015%,0.02%,0.025%and0.03% xylo-oligosaccharides were supplemented to the basal diet respectively tothegroups.Wealsohadacontrolgroup.Theresults showed that: the groups with 0.015% and 0.02%xylooligosaccharideshadobviouslybetterperformancethanthecontrolgroup in average daily laying rate, egg weight and feed-egg ratio (P<0.01). As to the egg quality, shells of he groups with 0.015% and 0.02% xylo-oligosaccharides were extremely lower than that of the control group (P<0.01). The group with0.015%xylo-oligosaccharides had higher vitelline content than the control group (P<0.05). Forshellhardness,vitellinecolorcomparison, shell centage, HU and such other indexes, groups with 0.015% and 0.02%xylo-oligosaccharides hadnoobviousdifference (P>0.05); Compared with the control ,group with 0.015% xylo-oligosaccharides had23.90%and18.53%highergrossprofits

Effect of Xylo-oligosaccharides Supplementation on Egg Production Performance of Laying Hens

Abstract: The experiment was conducted to study the effects of different treatments on the production of hens. 2500 54 weeks-aged ISA Brown hens were randomly allocated to 5 groups, with 500 hens each group. The control group isfedwith basal daily diet and trial groups supplemented with 4 types ofadditive.TheyareXylooligosaccharide(XOS)(0.01%)andXOS+ Probiotics (0.005%+0.0025%, 0.005%+0.005%,0.01%+0.005%). The results showed that: compared withthecontrolgroup, the trial groups had 4.49%, 6.81%, 3.71% and 4.85% higher average layingratesrespectively;theiraverageeggweightswere also raised by 1.79%, 3.02%, 2.41% and 1.28%; average daily laying numbers were raised by 6.79%, 10.63%, 6.04% and 6.70%;feed-egg ratios were reduced by 6.25%, 9.39%, 5.47% and 6.25%. It had slight effect on death rates. Combining all indexes, additive of 0.01%XOS+0.005%probiotics did the best performance.

Effect of Xylo-oligosaccharides Supplementation on Egg Production Performance, Bio-chemical Indexes and Egg Quality of Laying Hens

Abstract: 720 55 weeks-aged healthy Hy-line variety hens were randomly allocated to 4 treatments,withthreerepetitions per treatment and 60 hens per repetition. The control group was fed with basal diet; trial group 1 was fed with basal diet supplemented with 0.015% terramycin; trial group 2 supplemented with 0.01% xylo -oligosaccharide(XOS); trial group 3 supplemented with 0.015% xylo -oligosaccharide(XOS). This experiment mainly studied the effects of xyloligosaccharides supplementation on egg production performance, bio-chemical indexes and egg quality of laying hens.Theresultsshowed that: trial group 2 had an obviously better performance in average laying rateandfeedeggratiothanthecontrolgroup(P<0.05); Trial group 2 and 3 had lower GPT activities by 25.00%(P<0.05) and 22.92% (P<0.05) than the control group respectively, and their total cholesterol levels were 30.82%(P<0.05)and 28.77%(P<0.05)lower respectively than that of thecontrolgroup. As to the egg quality, eggs of trial group 2 and3had29.74%(P<0.01)and34.86%(P<0.01)lowercholesterollevelsrespectively than those of the control group while eggs' protein levels were 10.07%(P<0.05)and 10.79%(P<0.05)higher.Comparedwith the control group, trial group 2 and 3 have 9.35% and 6.74%highergrossprofitsrespectively.Withallindexesinconsideration, the performance of trial group 2 supplemented with 0.01% of xylo-oligosaccharides is the best.
